There was a time where I didn’t always think about the idea of a healthy diet or proper appetite. I had assumed people chose to consume their favorite foods and drinks every other day without any thought of the consequences.
Everyone has the desire to live their life comfortably after all, so why wouldn’t we enjoy the simple luxury of eating and drinking whatever we desire?
I had that straightforward mindset for many years, but it quickly changed as I began my exciting journey working in Market Street’s Living Well Department. It immediately opened my eyes to a whole new interesting dietary and healthy world full of beneficial information on not only what to eat, but how to eat.

Not everyone appreciates the idea of going on a diet since there are many restrictions that deter us from enjoying our normal eating habits. Yet there are a variety of flexible options when it comes to dieting and choosing healthier foods that many consumers may not be aware of.
Although diets tend to vary widely in their end goals, restrictions, and nutritional value or contents they are all beneficial in some way shape or form. Market Street’s Living Well strives to provide and share this information along with our products within our stores that fall into these specific dietary categories that our shoppers require.
Mediterranean, ranked among the most likable health-focused diets, aims at the heart’s health and overall wellness with its focus being on plant-based foods, whole gains, and limited red meats and processed foods.
When it comes to weight loss the Keto diet aims
towards converting your body’s main energy source to glucose instead of any fats that you
consume.
If you’re concerned with any health-related obstacles, there is the choice of either the DASH or Whole30 diets. Both containing healthy eating guidelines and routines
that can treat bodily health conditions like high blood pressure or digestion.
Whether your goals or needs are weight loss, finding a plant-based diet, or medical requirements for your pallet, our United Market Street stores will always aim to carry and provide what you need!
And no, they didn’t pay me to promote that line, it’s just fact!

The more I worked, the more I learned, and the number of customers that I would meet who were seeking out our living well department’s products grew every week. It made me
truly realize how important our specific dietary and ingredient free items were to a large part of our community, and that is something I have slowly grown to appreciate within my time at United. It’s very difficult now to imagine every person that I meet and help being unable to live properly because they cannot find or do not have access to the food they need just to survive daily.
Just recently I helped a customer that was searching for a healthy snack alternative for her children because of severe allergies to common ingredients found in our Grocery Department’s popular products. I could feel the stress and worry from this customer as she had searched several other store retailers’ and found nothing that fit her children’s needs.
Once I provided a fruit snack that we carried without the allergen related ingredients, her expression immediately changed to a worry-free look and brightened up! That’s the type of customer service that makes the constant dietary research worthwhile for
me. I cannot imagine a different scenario where I had no way to provide any products for customers like her.
Just the thought of it makes me feel too anxious and almost useless in a sense.

One of our core values at United is offering a balance between quality and affordability. Many consumers will jump to the cheapest chain of grocery stores for their lower prices and availability, but there isn’t always that certain quality or brand variety behind what our
competitor’s provide as compared to our stores merchandise. We provide national brands, organic products, and private-label items that can offer a better value as compared to other grocers while staying in a comfortable price range for our consumers.
One common detail I hear often from our shoppers is that they find so many items at our stores that they cannot ever locate at our competitors or finding the same and similar products, but at a fairer price. They acknowledge our drive to obtain anything that they
request of our stores claiming that they will continue to shop at United for our variety dependability.
Our constant variety of brands and fresh provisions continue to draw in our community as we remain dependable, trustworthy, and always customer driven. With Wednesday’s being our day to introduce new ads & big savings and our popular Rewards! program, there’s always a way to save at United Market Street!

United’s stores all over the Texas and New Mexico region have provided fresh, organic, and wholefood products for over a century with the first United Cash Store founded in 1916 by H.D. Snell. In Sayre, Oklahoma.
The company has expanded its Market Street legacy to
over 96 store locations in 54 communities, all of which share the same goals to continue providing wholesome, fresh food and consumables.
Sure, having a large amount of cheap product is great and all, but providing affordable & quality product at fair pricing for our shoppers while meeting their lifestyle needs and expectations?
That feels even more fulfilling, especially while being part of The United Family, and the world of the Living Well Department.

“Each store format was specially
designed to feed, inspire, and reflect the culture of the communities we serve and the always
evolving needs and wants of the guests we serve.”
-The United Family
